To prevent this, a controlled hydrogen-nitrogen atmosphere is introduced into the tin bath. Hydrogen removes residual oxygen, preventing tin oxide formation and ensuring a smooth, optically clear glass surface. This process enhances glass quality, improves energy efficiency, and reduces production defects, making hydrogen essential for modern float glass production.
