The industrial gas business is a key enabler in both traditional energy production and the transition to clean energy, supporting power generation, fuel efficiency, carbon reduction, and renewable energy technologies. Industrial gases such as hydrogen (H₂), oxygen (O₂), carbon dioxide (CO₂), nitrogen (N₂), and helium (He) are essential for improving energy efficiency, reducing emissions, and developing sustainable alternatives in fossil fuels, nuclear energy, hydrogen power, and renewable energy sources.

Enhanced Combustion in Power Plants

• In coal-fired, natural gas, and biomass power plants, pure oxygen is used instead of air to create more efficient combustion, reducing NOx emissions and enabling carbon capture.

Inerting & Fire Suppression in Power Plants

• Nitrogen displaces oxygen in oil refineries, natural gas storage, and energy production facilities, reducing fire and explosion risks.

Cryogenic Cooling for Nuclear & Fusion Energy

• Liquid helium is used to supercool superconducting magnets in nuclear fusion reactors (such as ITER) and advanced energy storage systems.
