  2. Nitrogen has a boiling point of -195.8°C, at atmospheric pressure, and a melting point of -210°C. Also, if Nitrogen is compressed, it can turn into a solid without cooling.
  3. It is a colorless, odorless, and inert gas.
  4. Nitrogen is valued both as a gas for its inert properties and a liquid for cooling and freezing.

The process of separating Nitrogen directly from the air:

  1. Nitrogen can be produced industrially by the fractional distillation of air in a cryogenic air separation unit.
  2. This process separates liquid Nitrogen directly from the air, as the process makes use of the different temperatures that allow nitrogen to turn into a liquid and separate from the air.
  3. Using the same method, Argon and Oxygen are also produced.

A fertilizer is any material of natural or synthetic origin that is applied to soil or to plant tissues to supply plant nutrients. And one of the main uses of AHG’s Nitrogen in the agricultural industry is that it is one of the main nutrients in the fertilizers.

Many sources of fertilizer exist, both natural and industrially produced. For most modern agricultural practices, fertilization focuses on four main macronutrients:

  1. Nitrogen (N)
  2. Phosphorus (P)
  3. Potassium (K)

Nitrogen is considered to be the most important nutrient, and plants absorb more nitrogen than any other element. Nitrogen is essential to in making sure plants are healthy as they develop and nutritious to eat after they’re harvested. That’s because nitrogen is essential in the formation of protein, and protein makes up much of the tissues of most living things

Nitrogen fertilizers are mainly produced from ammonia (NH3), and ammonia is used as a feedstock for all other nitrogen fertilizers.

What are Ammonia’s characteristics?

  1. a chemical compound of Nitrogen and Hydrogen
  2. Ammonia boils at −33.34 °C. Therefore, liquid Ammonia must be stored under pressure or at low temperatures.
  3. It is a colorless gas with a characteristically overpowering smell.
  4. Because of its many uses, Ammonia is one of the most highly produced inorganic chemicals.

In nature, Nitrogen-rich Fertilizers can be found in deposits of sodium nitrate (NaNO3) which could be found in the Atacama desert in Chile in 1830. This was the first source of natural nitrogen-rich fertilizers used
